About Up Late

James St Up Late (JSUL) is a street wide fashion party held annually in Brisbane’s James St retail district since 2010 and is the only night of the year that our community trades late.  

The 2026 Up Late event will take place on Thursday 19 March from 5 – 8PM. Participating James St retailers and venues span the breadth of the James St offering – from fashion, food, drink, health and beauty, to lifestyle, design and hotel businesses. James St Up Late businesses collaborate for one, annual late-night celebration, offering shopping discounts and exclusives, new collection previews, gifts with purchases, competitions, designer conversations, masterclasses and themed food and drinks.  

Up Late is the one night of the year that James St trades late, with the precinct connected via street wide DJ performances, themed lighting and pop-up activations. 

Please note, the James St Up Late 2026 artwork and campaign materials contain figures that have been generated by AI. Any resemblance to real persons, dead or alive, or other real-life entities, past or present, is purely coincidental. 

Attending & Accessibility

James St Up Late (JSUL) is a free, street wide community event with no registration required – all are welcome to attend. Retailer hosted JSUL events, such as masterclasses, styling sessions and restaurant specials, may require reservations, please contact individual businesses to confirm. 

JSUL produced activities are wheelchair accessible. Again, for retailer hosted JSUL activities please contact the relevant business to confirm. If you require assistance or have other mobility requirements, please contact the James St Initiative directly at info@jamesst.com.au or on (07) 3850 0111. For independent participating JSUL retailer and venue hosted activities and events, please contact each business directly to find out more about the accessibility of each event. 

Getting Here

Secure paid parking is available at The Calile Hotel from 6:00AM – 12:00AM daily, with the first hour free for guests and shoppers.  

Secure, paid parking is also available at: Secure Parking at McLachlan & Ann Car Park on Connor St from 5AM – 1AM or Wilson Parking at 949 Ann St, 24hrs. 

Alternatively, Brisbane City Council street parking is available 24 hours in the surrounding streets. Train and bus services frequently operate in and around Fortitude Valley and New Farm. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Participation: Participation in the James St Party Bag offer is deemed as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.  
  2. Inconsistency: To the extent of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any other reference to this offer, these Terms and Conditions prevail.  
  3. Promoter: The Promoter is James Street Initiative (ABN 78 164 358 463) of Level 1, 60 James Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006. Telephone: 0738500111 (Promoter).  
  4. Participating Retailer: Only transactions made at a JSUL 2026 Participating Retailer as indicated in the full list above will qualify. Please note this excludes food and beverage venues such as cafes, grocers, bars and restaurants or any business not included on the above list.  
  5. Minimum Purchase: The Minimum Purchase amount to redeem a JSUL Party Bag is $50 or higher from a Participating Retailer.  
  6. Printed Proof of Purchase: To redeem a James St Party Bag a printed receipt showing purchases of $50 or over made during the Promotional Period from a Participating Retailer must be presented (digital receipts will not be accepted).  
  7. Quantities: Available only while stocks last on a first-come, first-served basis during the Promotional Period from 5-8PM, Thursday 19 March 2026.  
  8. Limitations: Only one thousand (1,000) James St Party Bags are available while stocks last. Strictly one bag per person. Strictly one bag per purchase.  
  9. One entry per person: Multiple entries from the same person will not be accepted.  
  10. Promotional Period: The promotion commences during the James St Up Late event period on 17:00 AEST Thursday 19 March 2026 and closes on 20:00 AEST Thursday 19 March 2026, or when all Party Bags have been redeemed (whichever comes first).  
  11. Non-Transferrable: The James St Party Bag and the contents contained within are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. No responsibility is accepted for any variation in the value of the Party Bag and its contents.  
  12. Verification: The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries and the authenticity of the Proof of Purchase. The Promoter's decision is final.  
  13. Disqualification: Any Entrant found to be sharing a Proof of Purchase receipt with another person will have entries invalidated and the Promoter reserves the right to withhold a James St Party Bag. The Promoter reserves the right to, at any time, verify an entry or entrant and disqualify an entrant the Promoter has reason to believe has submitted an entry not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The Promoters decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.  
  14. Liability: The Promoter is not liable for any loss (including loss of opportunity), damage (including, but not limited to, direct, indirect or inconsequential loss), or injury suffered in connection with accepting or using a prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.  Photography: Entrants may be photographed during the competition, and the Entrants grant the Promoters and Prize Suppliers a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the Entrants will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
  15. Third-Party Supplier: Party Bag contents such as products, items, prizes, services and vouchers supplied by a Third-Parties Supplier are subject to the Third-Party Supplier Terms and Conditions and the Promoter is not liable for losses in connection with its use, except where prohibited by law. The contents are subject to the specific Terms and Conditions of the Third-Party suppliers (for example warranties, booking conditions, expiry dates or usage rules).
  16. Third-Party Supplier Limitation: The Promoter is not responsible or liable for any aspect of the Third-Party Supplier product or service. This includes: 

    a.      Any delay or failure by the Third- Party Supplier to deliver the product or service.

    b.      Any loss, damage, or personal injury that may arise from accepting or using the prize (except for liability that cannot be excluded by law, such as consumer guarantees).

    c.      Any failure by the third party to meet their obligations.

  17. Transport: Transport to and from James St and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the Entrant.
  18. Modifications: The Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the offer without notice.
  19. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter's ability to proceed with the offer on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the offer and recommence it from the start on the same conditions, subject to state government legislation.  
  20. These Terms and Conditions will bind this and any future entry by entrants into a competition on this site and may be updated from time to time.  
  21. All Entrants release from, and indemnify the Promoter against all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of a James St Party Bag or participation in the offer including (but not limited to) loss of income, personal injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential, foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.   
  22. The Promoter, Third-Party Suppliers and their associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:

    a.      during the entry process or the redemption;  

    b.      in the participation, acceptance or use of any element(s) of the James St Party Bag;  

    c.      due to the broadcast of any program relating to the Competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person; or 

    d.      arising from or related to any problem or technical malfunction of any telephone network, internet connection, perthnow.com.au website outage or lines or mobile communications network related to or resulting from participation in this promotion.  

  23. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Queensland.

  1. Information on how to enter forms part of these Terms and Conditions. Participation in the Promotion is deemed as acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
  2. To the extent of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any other reference to this Promotion, these Terms and Conditions prevail.

  4. Entry is open to residents of Australia aged eighteen (18) years or over only. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families, suppliers, associated companies and agencies are ineligible to enter.  Persons under the age of 18 years are not considered adults and therefore are not able to enter. If a Winner is discovered to be under 18, they will automatically be disqualified.
  5. The Promoter in accordance with the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) under the Charitable and Non-Profit Gaming Act 1999.  
  6. “James St Up Late The Golden Ticket 2026” Promotion is a game of chance and in order to enter the draw, Entrants must:
